The U.S. DOT released sample legislation of what could eventually become a bill to ban the act of texting while driving for all of the US.
It’s considered a starting point for the states to create their legislation and take action. The law was modeled after an executive order handed from President Barack Obama in Nov 2009 telling federal employees not to text and drive in government vehicles.
